This residence is located in a sensitive environmental zone - earthquake potential, liquefaction and a high and variable water table were all important considerations. Contemporary finishes enhanced the classic lines and original elegance of this light and airy historic home. Without compromising intimacy, by opening up and repurposing unutilized space, this house was beautifully updated for family living.
Capturing optimal views of Aspen Mountain and maintaining maximum privacy were high priorities for this contemporary mountain home. Featuring a courtyard entrance, this residence beautifully merges innovation and luxury, integrating an efficient use of space with passive solar and sustainable materials.

Featuring locally sourced reclaimed hardwood throughout, the contemporary interiors also include inlaid countertops and vanities, custom cabinetry and a private yoga studio that captures sunset views and diffused northern light.
The focus of this design was to take the existing floor plan, blow it wide open and create a seamless flow and continuity between indoor and outdoor living. The sizeable renovation considered every opportunity for the indoor spaces to mingle with the outdoors via balconies, decks and sliding glass doors. The project is most notable for its resort-quality exterior living spaces and capturing an additional 4,500 square feet for the home by expanding vertically within the existing footprint.
