Doing Well By Doing Good

Philanthropy is at the core of who we are. At Forum Phi, we are deeply committed to investing time and energy into the communities where we work. While there is no simple solution to the challenges faced throughout the world, one thing is clear – no one person or organization can make a lasting impact alone. To do good, we must work together.

A percentage of our profits go to nonprofit organizations through volunteer and service, and to date over 4,000 hours have been donated. At Forum Phi we believe that an architect gains an acute understanding of the environment by becoming an active member of the community. Exploring local organizations and cultural climate, whether through volunteering, pro bono projects, sponsorships, and events, or simply enjoying the neighborhoods in which we live.

PRO BONO PROJECTS

Aspen Ski & Snowboard Club (AVSC) - Aspen, CO

Providing all youth in the greater Roaring Fork Valley with an opportunity to excel as athletes through winter sports, Forum Phi worked with AVSC to overcome fixed limitations of the existing space. Donating their time Forum Phi reconfigured the office interiors in order to double the amount of space, facilitate growth and increase the impact the organization has on local youth.

Aspen Historical Society (AHS) - Aspen, CO

The focus of the Aspen Historical Society is to enrich the community through preserving and communicating Aspen’s remarkable history. Forum Phi donated their services to assist with the design of a climate controlled, fire proof space where AHS can store and protect historical documents and the history of the Aspen community.

Aspen Center of Environmental Studies (ACES) - Aspen, CO

A non-profit environmental science education center with four sites in the Roaring Fork Valley, ACES provides programs in environmental science and ecological literacy for everyone. With a challenge to revive the children’s bird-watching program, Forum Phi used the surrounding environment to create a series of custom platform tree houses providing kids with a “bird’s eye view.”

Basalt Master Plan - Basalt, CO

Donating their time Forum Phi developed three planning options for the Basalt community, in order to gain crucial data to prioritize and create a collective vision for the town.

Challenge Aspen - Snowmass, CO

A growing nonprofit facing severe space constraints without funding, Challenge Aspen sought a renovation to expand the parameters of their current space. Forum Phi doubled the size of the space the staff could utilize, while installing a handicapped lift with direct mountain access. With the help of Forum Phi, Challenge Aspen’s updated and efficient space is better equipped to serve our community and those in need.

Alameda Point Collaborative (APC) - Alameda, CA

The Alameda Point Collaborative is a supportive housing program for homeless families within the decommissioned Alameda Naval Air Station. The goal of this project was to develop a master plan and design a community room to be utilized as a positive place for youth to congregate. In partnership with APC Forum Phi redesigned the existing clinical space to be a functional, contemporary, and sustainable youth career center.

Coastal Repertory Theater - Half Moon Bay, CA

Providing artistic development in all aspects of the theatre for adults and children alike, Forum Phi spearheaded a successful fundraising campaign for the Coastal Repertory Theatre to cover the remodeling costs to redesign the dressing rooms, restrooms, theatre seating, and the stage.
