Capturing optimal views of Aspen Mountain and maintaining maximum privacy were high priorities for this contemporary mountain home. Featuring a courtyard entrance, this residence beautifully merges innovation and luxury, integrating an efficient use of space with passive solar and sustainable materials.
FORUM PHI STUDIO

Situated in a historic Victorian property in the West End of Aspen, Forum Phi’s open studio floor plan maximizes daylight and encourages collaboration. In addition to the Forum Phi office, two rental spaces in the historic building were also upgraded and converted to private offices.
VICTORIAN HALLAM HOUSING

This project is the redevelopment of a historic landmark property. After evaluating the site, Forum Phi designed seven affordable housing units, providing homes for eighteen employees. To preserve the historical elements as the focal point, the structure was relocated into the foreground, thus creating space for additional units. This project not only maintains the character of the town, but creates homes for more residents.
HISTORIC FRANCIS HOUSE

Built in 1910, this historic home in Aspen’s west end, underwent a stunning transformation. The renovation preserved the historic exterior while modernizing the interior of the home. The Historic Preservation Commission reviewed and approved the design that maximized both the private and public spaces of the home accommodating the client’s desire for hosting and entertaining.

Forum Phi is currently designing a 23,000 luxury boutique hotel featuring nine suites, a lounge and bar, two residential penthouses, rooftop deck, on-site affordable housing, and subgrade parking.

This residence is located in a sensitive environmental zone, earthquake potential and high variable water table impacted the design of this historic home. By integrating contemporary accents with traditional finishes, Forum Phi was able to turn the client’s vision, conceived on an in-flight beverage napkin, into a reality. The floor plan was opened up to create more shared spaces to accommodate the client’s desire to entertain.

SMUGGLER MOUNTAIN ENCLAVE
30 UNITS | 54 TOTAL BEDROOMS | 37,474 SF | ASPEN, CO
At 37,474 square feet, major requirement was to keep this project as cost-effective as possible with a $300 per square foot construction cost. This project consists of 30 employee housing units built over a covered, sub-grade parking garage. Containing a mix of 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units that total 54 bedrooms and will provide 71 Aspen locals with a new home.

Forum Phi incorporated an open floor plan that seamlessly connected the interior and exterior living spaces. The remodel included a temperature controlled wine room and a gorgeous veranda was engineered to mitigate extreme sun exposure while intently framing the magnificent views of Sopris Mountain.
STARWOOD VISTA RESIDENCE

This spectacular residence has been designed to capture the essence of the mountains featuring sweeping views of the Elk Mountain Range including Aspen and Snowmass Ski Areas. The interior spaces encompass vast living areas to entertain friends, family and future generations as a true legacy home. The inclusion of feature walls throughout the home takes precedence to display the family’s art collection.
ST. HELENA RETREAT

The design of this ground up contemporary residence was guided by sustainable principles, reducing the home’s energy consumption by 80%. The home features locally sourced reclaimed wood, contemporary interiors, and a yoga studio that captures the homes mountainous views. The barn addition acts as a power plant for the property and a furniture making studio for the owner.

Forum Phi was able to transform the existing floor plan and created a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor living spaces. Forum Phi was able to capture an additional 4,500 square feet for the home by expanding vertically within the existing footprint.
