Engaged to restore the original character of a historic cabin built in 1910 in Aspen’s West End, while adding square footage for the client to host and entertain, Forum Phi opened up the interior of this home to feel lighter and brighter. The team also extended the basement into the existing crawl space. This Aspen landmark required Forum Phi to work closely with the Historic Preservation Commission in order to gain approval of the 6,000 square foot design. Maximizing both the private and public spaces of the home, the basement addition created room for a media room, bar, temperature-controlled wine cabinet, half bathroom and bedroom suite.
