The main objective of the project was to respect the integrity of the original Victorian miner’s cabin, while creatively adding to the footprint of the home. Intending to contribute to the fabric of Aspen, the homeowners wanted to ensure the renovation highlighted and honored the historical cabin’s structural and architectural origins. A review by the Aspen Historic Preservation Commission was required to certify that the addition both complimented and celebrated the original structure and surroundings. As lovers of antiques and contemporary art, the homeowners were thrilled that the finished product exudes a chic modern vitality while highlighting the classic charm.
