The Emerging Architectural Professional 1/2 is the foundation of the firm and executes a design into reality. Their accurate modeling, detailed self-review, and efficiency build the basis of each pr oject we do.

We are looking for proficiency in permit drawings and documentation, design development, and code evaluations. This position displays a thorough understanding of the functions and setup of ArchiCAD. Duties may vary according to job assignment.

    • Demonstrates an understanding of the functions of ArchiCAD and set-up of composites, layer sets, graphic overrides, model view options, renovation filters, and view types (Project Map, View Map, Layout Map, Publisher Sets)
    • Understands and implements design direction, makes informed design decisions, understands functional design and participates with direction in Schematic Design for standard residential and commercial designs
    • Adheres to the Redline system including highlighting all redlines, scanning them into a folder structure, communicating with the Project Manager and other relevant parties upon completion
    • Reviews work for accuracy prior to submittal
    • Understands functional design
    • Displays fluency in locating and understanding building codes, including how to research international and local code
    • Prepares permit documents and construction documentation sets under supervision
    • Implements consultant coordination information into documentation set

Summary

The Emerging Architectural Professional 3/4 primarily responsible for the completion and accuracy of all document sets and consultant coordination. They may take a leadership role on small to mid-sized projects. Duties may vary according to job assignment.

Essential Functions

  • Design & Documentation:

    • Understands and implements Forum Phi graphic standards successfully
    • Produces Schematic Design, Permit, and Construction documentation drawing sets within Forum Phi graphic standards
    • Prepares consultant RFP’s and understands what specific project information should be included with oversight
    • Prepares document set schedules including consultant coordination and deliverable turnaround, permit set deadline coordination, and construction document deadline coordination independently for small projects and with oversight for large projects
    • Prepares budgets, staffing outlines, and project phasing for small projects. Understand the implications of improperly managed budgets, staffing, and phasing.
    • Communicates appropriately with primary Consultants including delegating timelines and deliverables with oversight or independently on small projects
    • Manages consultant communication with direction and oversight. May independently manage consultants on small projects.
    • Coordinates with external consultants including but not limited to structural, mechanical and civil waterproofing, geothermal, audio/visual, lighting, and pool & spa
    • Displays a general understanding of secondary Consultants’ essential functions including waterproofing, geothermal, audio/visual, lighting, and pool and spa
    • Creates an agenda for client/consultant meetings and executes meticulous and timely meeting minutes
    • Communicates task timeframes and status updates to the Project Manager in a timely manner
    • Coaches and mentors the Emerging Architectural Professional 1/2
    • Determines applicable codes per municipality and project location
    • Displays understanding of construction techniques

Summary

The Senior Interior Designer will provide the interiors department style and design direction, specifically FF&E/A. They will lead quality assurance and quality control on all items regarding FF&E/A. The Senior Interior Designer will provide mentorship, resources, and knowledge to achieve a cohesive aesthetic that we are all proud to represent.

They will develop and implement interiors standards to create a smooth and standardized process. They are also responsible for project budget management and cost control.

  • Design & Documentation:

    • Lead Interior Design concept presentation content, including material, renderings, imagery and concept visuals, and related graphic materials
    • Work with clients to establish/determine furniture budgets and track budget through the life of the project
    • Mentor and train team on luxury products while introducing new vendor lines. Conduct FF&A “taste” courses for the team.
    • Make sure the library reflects our tastes and has appropriate materials in coordination with purchasing. Work with Procurement Manager to organize and display current and new interiors library spaces.
    • Work closely with Procurement Manager to establish milestones and deadlines
    • Ensure POs for furniture vendors are issued
    • Oversee installs so they are successful and executed accordingly
    • Be present and involved with installation and likely photography
    • Manage teams’ “sales” approach to clients
    • Work with Creative Director on design collaboration and design inspiration during the initial stages of the project—initial client meetings when possible
    • Depending on the phase the project is in currently or when our team comes on board, step in early in the project to assist/direct style, aesthetic, and spacing
      • Should be copied on project emails to be kept in the loop during the design/documentation process
    • Will meet with new vendors and introduce new vendor lines to the team
    • Be in client meetings as early as possible to help ascertain the client style and drive it forward
    • Design reviews and QCs on the ID document sets
    • With the Project Manager, create the initial FFE/FFA concept package and present to client with PM (STAGE I FFA)
      • Prepare or guide client presentations
    • Develop the second round of selections and preliminary budget for the client for selections and approvals (STAGE II FFA)
    • VE the selections and put together the final presentation and budget with actual selections and pricing (STAGE III FFA)
    • Hand package to Procurement Manger for entry into Studio Webware, production of final PE, approval by the client, draw request and receipt, processing of PO’s, tracking, and follow up
